World Tuberculosis Day
–Fight against TB. Test First.
To commemorate the day in 1882 when Dr Robert Koch announced the discovery of the causative bacterium of tuberculosis, which opened the way for the diagnosis and treatment of the disease, World TB Day is celebrated every year on March 24th.
The theme of World TB Day 2022 is “Invest to End TB. Save Lives.” To reach the goal of ending TB, more attention needs to be paid to adolescent infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. According to figures released by the World Health Organisation, 1.1 million children fell ill with TB globally in 2020. Child and adolescent TB is often overlooked by health providers and can be difficult to diagnose and treat, and 226,000 of them will die from this preventable and treatable disease, only 37% of adolescent and children under the age of 15 infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis are adequately diagnosed and treated. Due to the lack of obvious symptoms, the ease of confusion with other childhood diseases and the difficulty of sampling, the diagnosis of children infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis is even more challenging and more sensitive and interference resistant test urgently need.
TargetingOne is committed to providing sensitive, accurate and convenient tests for the diagnosis of disease, including Mycobacterium tuberculosis nucleic acid test kit. The kit uses IS6110 and IS1081 dual targets and has a sensitivity of 10 bacilli/mL and can be used in conjunction with a fully automated nucleic acid extractor to obtain results in 4 hours. The results are reproducible and not easily disturbed by external factors such as samples and personnel, and the results are highly comparable across multiple tests. The microdroplet single template assay greatly reduces the influence of impurities in the sample and can test samples such as sputum, alveolar lavage fluid and blood.
Together, we make the world a better place.
